OPTION 1

Candidates should ideally possess a formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety such as the NEBOSH IGC/NGC or a diploma/degree in Safety.  If you have such a qualification you can register automatically for the course by clicking APPLY NOW.  You will be asked to send a copy of your qualification on final registration.

OPTION 2

Candidates with relevant offshore experience in the oil and gas industry can also register by sending their CV to safetyadmin1@kbassociates.org for verification and approval.

REMARKS

1. 7% GST (Singapore goods tax) is only applicable for applicants residing in Singapore. It will be automatically removed once you choose your location

2. The course book will be sent by courier and an additional SGD$100 is charged for Asia, Europe and Australia automatically in registration.  Candidates in the Middle East and America's should add SGD$50.00 to their transfer

3. You can complete the course in three (3) months; if you require an extension this is chargeable at SGD$60.00 for reactivation of your account. Candidates can take up to FIVE years to complete once enrolled

4. Candidates are required to give a MINIMUM of FOUR weeks’ notice regarding their preferred examination date if they wish to sit at the end of a set course date (confirmed course) at our Centre in Changi or Aberdeen. The SGD$185.00 (GBP92.50) NEBOSH examination fee is automatically included in the final price once. If a candidate needs to re-sit then this fee is chargeable again.

NEBOSH examinations are:

Distance Learning and E-Learning candidates may also sit their ITC examination on the Friday of any CONFIRMED scheduled course.

Alternatively with EIGHT weeks notice we can arrange an examination at your local British Council or University in Australia/USA/Canada for an additional fee of SGD$200 on the following dates:

  • 04 March 2015
  • 03 June 2015
  • 02 September 2015
  • 02 December 2015

For candidates in the UK we can arrange an examination in Aberdeen or London

5. Candidates who require to sit their examination on a global examination date worldwide are required to inform safetyadmin1@kbassociates.org by the formal registration date who will arrange for an additional fee of SGD$200.00 (GBP100.00) + venue fee. Global examinations dates are set four times per year in March, June, September and December.

6. All bank charges are the responsibility of the sender. Any shortfall will be requested. Please note that PAYPAL will add 4% automatically onto the final fee.

7. For NEBOSH registration candidates will be contacted via email once they have completed the online registration form and requested to send their ID (passport or formal government photo ID) and OHS certificate copy.

8. Candidates will not be enrolled in the unit examination until all course work or minimum attendance has been achieved and tutor approval has been given.

REMARKS

1. 20% VAT is added for all UK and Eire applicants enrolling with KBA(E). If you resided outwith this area please register with KBAT using www.kbatraining.org if you need a non- VAT invoice/receipt.

2. The course book will be sent via standard UK mail to all UK and Eire applicants. If you would like it delivered by courier this shall be charged at cost. Course books can also be collected free of charge from our Altens Training Centre.

3. Distance learning courses are granted for a period of 12 months. During this period any changes to the syllabus will be informed via email or as appropriate. After 12 months; materials will not be updated unless candidates formally request an extension which is chargeable at GBP30.00 for another 6 months. Candidates can take upto FIVE years to sit the examination once enrolled.

4. Candidates are required to give a MINIMUM of FOUR weeks notice regarding their preferred examination date if they wish to sit at the end of a set course date (confirmed course) at our Centre in Changi or Aberdeen. The SDG$185.00 (GBP92.50) NEBOSH unit examination fee is automatically included in the final price once. If a candidate needs to re-sit then this fee is chargeable again.

RE-SIT ONLY CANDIDATES

Registration will only be accepted from KBAT/KBAE NEBOSH ITC candidates who have approval from their tutor (obtained when all assignments or tuition has been completed). This fee is included in the initial cost of the course.

All candidates should arrive by 0830 on the day of the examination. The exam will be 2 hours and finish at 1130.

Candidates whose first language is not English may be entitled to Reasonable Adjustment and be given an extra 30 minutes. They must inform KBAT/KBAE before the examination as NEBOSH approval must be sought. RA candidates will require a hard copy dictionary for use during the examination.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety has been developed to meet the growing requirements for formal training and certification. The course is a professional qualification that allows individuals to gain a good grounding in the operational safety requirements in the oil and gas environment and satisfy employers that they have formal training and certification with in the area of employment.

The Achievement of the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (IGC) or equivalent prior to undertaking the International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety (IOG) is highly recommended. The IOG is designed as a specialist sector specific supplement to the IGC rather than to replace knowledge and understanding of general health and safety gained as part of the IGC. This course also supplements the NEBOSH Diploma.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The course is designed for individuals with safety responsibilities such as managers, supervisors, employee representatives, health and safety counselors who need to ensure and understand safety in the working environment, as well as needing an appreciation of hydrocarbon process safety. Delegates should already have the knowledge of operational process safety issues or have taken the NEBOSH International General Certificate in OSH.

ELEMENT 5: Logistics and Transport operation

Note: The course consists of over 35 hours of tuition and a mimimum of 15 hours private study

HOW IS IT ASSESSED

Candidates will be assessed through a written examination at the end of the course.

LEARNING OPTIONS

  • FULL TIME TRAINING
    Full Time Training will be delivered over a 5-day period with examinations on the final day or Saturday.
  • E-LEARNING TRAINING
    E-learning is delivered via our interactive portal over a three month period (options to extend).  More details are available on www.kbatraining.org who manage this training portal. 
  • DISTANCE LEARNING TRAINING
    Distance learning is delivered via hardcopy KBAT course materials and email contact with the tutor for assignments.
  • COMBINED LEARNING
    This option combines e-learning and distance learning so candidates have access to our interactive portal and hardcopy course materials. More details are available on www.kbatraining.org who manage this training portal.
  • BLENDED LEARNING
    This is a combination of full time with e-learning/distance options to aid the learning experience.

Examinations are held on the last day of the course or for distance learners four times per year at any British Council or participating university.
